Terms and conditions for using the Nature Index platform.

Last updated: March 2026

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Nature Index platform, you accept and agree to be bound by these terms of use. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Use of Data

Ecological benchmark data provided through the Nature Index is made available for informational, educational, and research purposes. The data is provided "as is" and should not be used as the sole basis for land management, conservation, or regulatory decisions without independent verification.

Accuracy and Completeness

While we strive to ensure the accuracy and completeness of benchmark data, the Nature Index does not guarantee that all information is error-free or up to date. Benchmark values represent synthesised research findings and may be updated or superseded as new evidence becomes available.

Intellectual Property

The Nature Index platform, its design, and its curated benchmark data are the intellectual property of Quest. Original source materials linked from benchmark records remain the property of their respective publishers.

Citation

If you reference Nature Index data in publications or reports, please cite the specific benchmark code and include a reference to the Nature Index platform. Where possible, also cite the original source publications listed on each benchmark detail page.

Limitation of Liability

The Nature Index and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of or reliance on data provided through this platform.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
