Range: 0 to 2 dS/m
Optimal Range: 0 to 2
Direction: Higher is desirable ↑
Form: OptimalRange

Evidence & Context

The optimal range for this system is defined as an ECe<2.0 dS/m.

Metric Definition:

Soil Electrical Conductivity (EC) measured as the saturated paste extract (ECe)

Benchmark Definition:

This benchmark defines the optimal soil electrical conductivity (EC) range for high ecological health and sustainable agricultural productivity in the Arid Karstic Woodlands biome under agricultural crop production, where values are safely above nutrient poverty and below salinity stress thresholds.

Justification:

The optimal zone is safely above the conceptual floor of nutrient poverty but remains well below the upper warning threshold where salt accumulation begins to cause stress.
